Solan, October 25

Sukhwinder Singh Sukku, former chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) and MP for Nadaun, today announced that if the party is elected to power, cement will be made available to residents of the constituency of Arki Assembly on the basis of the principle of no profit or loss on the part of local authorities. manufacturers. The party would even bring in a law to keep this promise.

Sukhu, while campaigning for party candidate Sanjay Aawasthy in Chandi and Kashlog in Arki, said: “It is dismal that even locals are forced to buy expensive cement. The state government has failed to protect the interests of the population, although the cement factories have received land to set up their units ”.

He alleged: “The government is trying to put an end to transportation companies by appointing directors. These companies should be managed by the carriers themselves ”.

Sukhu said the autonomy of transport companies would be restored if Congress was elected to power. “The transport companies will be reconstituted, according to the suggestions of the transporters. It is a key issue here, but the state government is acting against the aspirations of the people. Voters will give the BJP an appropriate response in Arki’s by-election for failing to address their concerns, ”he said.

Sukhu said, “The opening of cement company factories here has not benefited the locals as many of them have not received compensation. These companies do not follow the 70 percent employment standard for locals ”.

He urged locals to support Awasthy, who was well aware of their problems.
