With just two weeks left in the NFL regular season, teams continue to grapple with starting injuries as other players attempt to erase COVID-19 protocols. Week 17 will see more opportunities for Reserves to shine in lead roles.
Here are five players under $ 5,000 on DraftKings to consider for roster review this week:
Boston Scott, Eagles RB ($ 4,900)
The Philadelphia backers’ body continues to face injury in Week 17. Miles Sanders will miss the tilt against Washington with a broken hand, while Jordan Howard continues to recover from a sting. It will likely be Scott and rookie Kenneth Gainwell who will get most of the reps against the football team’s average defense.
Cole Beasley, Bills WR ($ 4,900)
The new COVID-19 policy between the NFL and the Players’ Association will allow Beasley to return in week 17 despite not being vaccinated. Good timing too, as Buffalo will face the atrocious Falcons pass defense this Sunday. The No.11 has a good chance of surpassing his fantastic 10.6 points per game average on DraftKings against Atlanta.
Rashod Bateman, Ravens WR ($ 4,800)
The rookie finally got rid of the monkey with his first touchdown last week. Since his first game of Week 6, Bateman has posted respectable numbers and he could be backed this Sunday for two reasons: Marquise Brown could miss the game due to illness and quarterback Lamar Jackson could return. Jackson suffers from a sprained ankle and a lack of mobility could result in fewer rushes and more passing attempts against the Rams.
Braxton Berrios, Jets WR ($ 3,700)
Although he caught five of six targets for 37 yards against the Jags last week, Berrios remains cheap in Week 17. This could be because the fantastic sites expected catchers from. The Jets assists return this Sunday, but Elijah Moore and Jamison Crowder are still facing injuries and either or both could still miss the game. This could open up even more opportunities for Berrios this week.
Dalton Schultz, Cowboys TE ($ 5,000)
It’s hard to ignore Schultz after two back-to-back monster games that saw him catch 16 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns. The only concern is the fact that Week 17 opponent Arizona ranks second against tight ends in DFS.
